Blake Feldman, born on April 18, 1986 in Pomona, New Jersey, has been able to reach every goal and ambition set for him to date with nothing giving him a reason to quit. At the age of 10, Blake’s father, Jerry Feldman, relocated him and his family to Jupiter, Florida, where Blake was given the opportunities to transform into the talented and creative filmmaker, entrepreneur, actor, model, and musician he is today.
With hopes to pursue his dream as a filmmaker, Blake made college as the next step. Blake joined the FSU chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon, where throughout the core values of brotherhood, he was encouraged to begin his first business, founding Feldman Studios. The one man company grew to a 10 employee enterprise that made over 40 films per year and withheld a promising clientele which included Ted Turner, Florida State, and Thompson Media Corporation’s BarBri. Blake graduated FSU Cum Laude with more of a hunger to pursue his dreams and attend Grad School.
After being interviewed at FSU and the American Film Institute (AFI), Blake fell short of an acceptance letter from either. Not letting a University decide his career path for him, Blake went ahead and created a project to build up his portfolio with only the knowledge he had given himself through experience. He filmed his first feature, American Paradise and first television Pilot, Short and Sketchy.
”On both productions, Blake juggled all the technical and creative jobs on set, quickly learning the difficulties of being a one-man crew. After the one year of educational hiatus a total of 8 denials, Blake was determined to attend film school again.Blake has received admirable awards, which honor his many years of experience, including the Burt Reynolds’s Scholarship, the highest student honor distributed from the Palm Beach International Film Festival, in 2004. Within the past year, Blake’s films have been premiered at 14 film festivals. He was recently awarded the Silver Lei Award from the 2010 Honolulu Film Festival and first runner up from the AOF Film Festival.
Blake Feldman is currently working on his M.A. in Film and Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design and is expected to graduate in March 2011. Many come across the questions asking themselves, “To be? Or not to be?” With Blake, however, his mind has already been set in stone… “To be? Or to BE
